[Exit, Pursued By A Sloth]

Just In Case Any of My Followers Were Wondering…

…I never finished Deadlocked. The vile beast bested me. I got to the point where Sookie’s rapist makes her dress up like a patriotic stripper, then makes a lewd remark about it, which makes her feel good about herself. At which point I simply had to throw my hands up in defeat and say “Okay, you win Charlaine. I physically cannot take anymore of this crap. My crap silos have collapsed under the weight of all your surplus crops of crapples and rapeseed. I’M DONE. DUNZO. NO MAS.”

Because I’m sure there are literally dozens if not hundreds of books where a woman’s rapist never makes her dress like a patriotic stripper. Books where a woman doesn’t go on wacky misadventures with her rapist. Books where a woman doesn’t ask for and listen to relationship advice from her rapist. Books where part of the plot doesn’t hinge on two random black characters with similar first names being totally connected in a big fucking conspiracy or whatever (because all black people know all other black people).

Really, Charlaine?
