That “dress” was hilarious. And so Forever21. :)) It’s one of those “why even bother?” dresses that are sort of there, but not really. And I loved that Sookie walked around in it as if it were the most commonplace thing ever. Perhaps it is. It’s a swamp country, South, in the summer. It’s probably a thousand degrees and muggy. People stop caring for clothing. :)

The majority of Sookie’s 1-3 wardrobe was chosen for functionality in the Louisiana summer (the series started in late June). Which, if you’ve never experienced, is one of the most disgusting weather experiences you can have (even beats out Rain of Frogs). It’s like living in Satan’s asshole, where he’s set up a mosquito breeding farm. Short, sleeveless, and cotton, that’s Sookie’s wardrobe.

Also, I think this was meant to be a bathing suit cover-up, and not an actual dress. But Sookie still felt the need to gallivant around in public with it, which is actually pretty believable, if you’ve spent any time in public in the summer in any place in America.

I love Sookie’s wardrobe seasons 1-3. It was perfect. Tacky, a little dorky, completely oblivious to modern trends, surprisingly sexy, and utterly endearing. And man, do I love it when a show decides to dress their lead female in any way other than as a catalog model and not make a big fucking deal about it.
